Professor Gillian Triggs – Fremantle Festival Keynote Address

Both lauded and vilified for her unflinching advocacy of human rights, Professor Gillian Triggs has been at the forefront of driving the national conversation on the impact of children in immigration detention centres and brings her fascinating insights to Fremantle for this special one-off event.

Drawing on her five-year tenure as President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, a distinguished academic career and prolific international commercial law practice, Professor Gillian Triggs will discuss the challenges facing Australia – how to strengthen community organisations, and minimise the risk of alienation and radicalisation.
